Dental implants stay fixed, so you do not need denture adhesive.

Waking‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ up with traditional dentures is often a silent struggle. You dry the pink acrylic base. You squeeze the glue. You press the denture into the mouth. Then you cross your fingers that they will stay during your first meal.

The truth is, dentures on removable bases are really a never-ending struggle. Every day, you worry about what you can and can’t eat; you worry about laughing and speaking too loudly; you worry about how close you can sit to your friends.

At‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Lema Dental Clinic in Turkey, we regularly meet patients who get tired of the denture routine and decide to restore their confidence. Moreover, they want to taste their food without the physicochemical flavor of the denture ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌glue.

However,‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ we should explore the deeper reasons why denture paste is only a temporary fix for a much bigger problem. So, here is how dental implants can actually provide a real, permanent ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌solution.

Disappearing Bone Support

To understand why dentures become loose, you need to look below the surface of your gums. Your jawbone is like a house’s concrete foundation. Natural tooth roots are thick steel beams embedded in the concrete that keep it strong and intact. When you lose, the bone loses that important pressure. Without it, the jawbone simply disappears. It is just like a muscle that shrinks as a result of no exercise.

As your jawbone diminishes, your dentures lose their grip. The denture glue just serves to fill the ever-increasing space between your hard plastic dentures and the shrinking gum tissues.

Prof. Dr. Coşkun Yıldız frequently mentions this to patients: “Trying to fix a denture onto a shrinking jawbone is like building a house on shifting sand. You must first fix the foundation.”

The Implant Method: Rebuilding the Foundation

Implant dentistry completely alters your biting system. We do not simply put fake teeth on your gum tissue. Instead, we insert minute titanium screws into the jawbone. The bone actually grows and integrates the metal. In this way, the internal “steel beams” that the jaw needs to stay strong and healthy get restored.

This is what we witness at the dental clinic upon patient conversion:

Doctors‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ in Turkey performing dental implants have become an attractive option for thousands of patients all over the world since they offer great results, affordable prices and exceptional services. The staff at our clinic will ensure that you are comfortable and we will always put your health first.
A dental implant may be considered as the best solution to transform one’s smile totally because it replaces your teeth permanently and also gives you a great support for the other prostheses. Besides looking, feeling and functioning like natural teeth, dental implants are very indistinguishable.
Polen Akkılıç, the dentist, and her staff utilize advanced 3D scanning technology in order to study the structure of your jaw with utmost accuracy. Therefore, they do not have to rely on guesswork at all. Actually, they plan digitally each and every step of your treatment even before you decide to have a seat in the dental chair.
Incisions, bare essentials, and post-operation dressings are just a few of the areas they often talk about during dental consultation sessions. The procedure is done minimally invasively, but with maximum effort and care.
Bare bone titanium root fixtures can be changed for periodontitis or oedematous gums and sometimes at the same surgical procedure, soft tissues and temporary prosthesis are also provided. These techniques and schedule result in a patient who is almost always able to leave a clinic with a smile full of confidence.
The main benefit is that you can finally eat your most favorite dishes without any fear of tooth slipping or falling out. Never again will you be reluctant to eat steak or apples because of missing teeth. Thanks to permanent implants, this is a thing of the ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌past!

Frequently Asked Questions

Does getting dental implants hurt?

We get this question almost every day. Don’t be scared. Usually, the fear is worse than the visit itself. We apply a very effective local anesthesia. Also, we provide a Sedation option to relax you throughout the procedure. It is not painful. Most patients describe the feeling as a simple tooth extraction. Postoperatively, a basic analgesic is enough.

I have been wearing dentures for years, and now my jawbone is too thin.

This is a common situation. We will figure out if there is enough bone for implant placement. If not, we do a bone graft. Just like with gardening, if you want a deep-rooted tree, you must first prepare the soil. That is what we will do with the bone.

I am getting old. Should I still consider dental implants?

Age itself is never a limitation. It is your general health that will be assessed. If you are 45 or 85 years old and are in good health, then the implant option would be available to you. We have patients in their late 80’s who are smiling comfortably and enjoying the change in how they eat and speak,k thanks to implants.

How long does the trip to Turkey take?

Usually, two trips are necessary for standard implants to be done. Trip one will last around 3 to 5 days. During this first visit, the titanium roots are placed into the bone. Then there is a period of 3 to 6 months during which the bone is healing and growing tightly around the metal. Trip two lasts about a week,k and this is where the permanent teeth provision happens.

How long will my new teeth last?

Dentures, with the wear and tear over time,e have to be replaced every so often. The implants, on the other hand, are a permanent fixture. Taking good care of your implants (which includes brushing, flossing, n,g and getting professional cleanings), the titanium pieces could be good for a ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌lifetime.
