Ed Helms is an example that came up a lot because the missing front tooth on his face and the implant were linked to a famous scene.

Yet, several celebrity dental listing websites are just taking for granted various dental procedures under one headline. Someone on a “fake teeth” list will actually most likely have:

Dental veneers
Dental crowns in porcelain or zirconia
Dental bonding using composite resin
A dental bridge
A removable denture
Dental implants
Implant-supported dental bridges
Teeth whitening with professional methods
Orthodontic treatment

A veneer is a thin layer glued on a tooth for beauty purposes and hiding imperfections, while a crown is a cap that is cemented on a broken-down tooth. An artificial tooth root is a tooth that is a root implant. Even though the result of all these procedures could be the same smile, they are completely different and, in fact, one cannot substitute the other.

Differences are not only because of the treatment type, but even the same person might have different reasons for smiling, and lighting, photo, beauty, camera angle, age, and mood might all result in before and after images of a person’s smile looking quite different to each other. Therefore, a mere visual comparison cannot be sufficient in proving a person has dental implants.

If no one – the dentist involved or the celebrity -has officially said the person underwent such treatment, it is safer to claim that the person is being reported to have implants or is appearing to have got restorative dental ‍‌‍‍‌treatment.

How Much Do Celebrity Implants Cost?

There‍‌‍‍‌ is no specific product known as “celebrity dental implant.” Usually, the term refers to top treatment that includes well-established implant brands, expert surgeons, digital planning, temporary bespoke teeth, and top-notch lab restoration.

The following are estimated ranges for implant treatment available in Turkey, but exact prices will also be decided by the implant brand, the number of missing teeth, bone volume, restoration material, surgical complexity, and other procedures.

Much of the clinic guides online currently display a price range of around 400–1,200 euros per implant restoration in Turkey, and full-arch treatment may range from about €3,000 up to €8,000 per arch.

The factors that may influence the final cost include:

How to Get Perfect Teeth Like Celebrities?

The‍‌‍‍‌ goal of implant treatment is not to make the patient’s mouth identical to that of another person. A smile that’s a celebrity replica of sorts should always be matched to the characteristics of the person, i.e., the face, lips, gums, bite, bones, and remaining teeth, in particular.

The beginning stage should be a full clinical investigation done by the dentist, who has to decide whether the patient’s teeth can be saved first, before the doctor suggests extractions and dental implants. Usually, it is preferred for a dentist to keep healthy or restorable natural teeth, if possible.

The main parts of the planning could be:

The Dental Exam: The dentist examines the patient’s teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints, and old restorations.
3D scan (CBCT): This scan provides a three-dimensional image of the patient’s dental bones. It helps determine factors such as bone height, bone width, location and size of the sinus, nerves, and implant sites.
Soft tissue check: Active gum disease must be resolved first before placing the patient with a new dental appliance.
Medical condition assessment: Factors that hinder or slow down the rate of healing, such as smoking, diabetes, drug use, immune problems, and past surgery, are examined here.
Digital Smile Design: Here, the size, shape, and position of the teeth as well as the colour can be decided according to the patient’s face.
Treatment Alternatives: Dentists will discuss with their patients which options are best for their case, i.e., if the patient needs a dental implant, a dental bridge, a dental crown, orthodontic treatments, dental veneers, or something else entirely.
Implant Surgery: Implant posts are placed into the jaw depending on how the bone and restoration were planned.

The patients are advised not to trust those clinics which promise to replace teeth right away without examining such factors as bone quality, gum condition, bite force, and medical history. In very limited situations, an immediate placement of temporary dentures may be feasible, but it has to be decided based only on implant stability and the safety of a clinical procedure.
