What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is a simple placeholder text used in the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry standard dummy text since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to create a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries but also the transition to electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. In the 1960s, with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, it became popular, and more recently, versions with Lorem Ipsum are used in desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker.
Why do we use it?
It is widely recognized that readable content can distract from the layout of a page. Our goal in using Lorem Ipsum is to arrange the letters in a way that looks more or less realistic in order to simulate readable English, instead of phrases like “Here is the content, here is the content.” Many desktop publishing programs and website builders now use Lorem Ipsum as the standard template text, and a search for “lorem ipsum” still shows many websites in development. Over the years, it has gone through various versions, sometimes accidentally, sometimes intentionally (to add a touch of humor, for example).
